Waveform

Waveform was born suddenly in autumn 2018, when a houseguest cried “That one!” in my stoneyard.  She said it reminded her of a whale.   Rather than carving anything as specific as a whale, I developed a simpler form, still aquatic and still suggesting aminal motion through a fluid medium.  We unveiled it in June 2019 in her garden, on a plinth of western red cedar made by her husband.  Not only was the unveiling party a wonderful celebration for the proud new owners of a work of art, but an opportunity for their friends to see several other sculptures of mine distributed throughout their garden.
